RCC Youth Director Job Description
Hours
5-10 hours weekly depending on individual & availability
Position Purpose
To lead, guide, and shepherd the mission of helping our RCC youth and families take their next steps towards Christ. This position will execute, oversee, and facilitate our student programming and oversee any other programs we develop for students in the future. This will be done in partnership with the Associate Pastor of Discipleship, & Lead Pastor as we all seek to bring glory to God in all that we do.
Position Qualifications
The candidate should possess; some experience and/or education in this particular area; the desire and ability to diligently and confidentially lead our RCC Student ministries & volunteers. This should be done with a positive spirit and team mentality, an obvious love for the Lord, His Word and people.
Reporting Relations
Reports directly to the Associate Pastor of Discipleship; responsible also to the Elders.
Duties and Responsibilities
Pastoral Care/teaching:
- help to recruit volunteers for RCC Youth
- schedule volunteers, periodically shadow, and oversee the growth and development of our volunteers
- create/prepare Biblically centered curriculum. In partnership with Associate Pastor of Discipleship
- develop an engaging space for students to feel welcomed, seen, and cared for
- build relationships with students and their families
- develop student leaders and give them opportunities to lead
** Currently youth programing is done on Sunday night from 4-6pm
** Most RCC youth in this season are middle school age but we do have some up-in-coming high school age
Expectations
- attend Sunday worship gatherings & occasionally other church events
- clear and relatively quick communication (with staff & team)
- maintain administrative duties with timeliness and organization
- attend weekly staff meetings (if possible, but not required)
- weekly check-ins with direct report
